Tradition and closeness to nature: Hubertusmesse in German Kaltenbrunn
In German Kaltenbrunn, hunters and nature lovers celebrated a deeply rooted tradition last Saturday: the Hubertus fair. This special ceremony, which is dedicated to St. Hubertus - the patron saint of the hunters - took place in front of the picturesque hunting house and united faith, customs and the attachment to nature in a festive framework.
Under the direction of Pastor Lijo Kuzhippallil, numerous members of the local hunting society as well as friends and supporters of the hunting culture gathered. The service not only served to ask the blessing for the upcoming hunting season, but also to express thanks to the creation. In his sermon, Pastor Kuzhippallil recalled the attendance of the responsibility that hunters and nature lovers have towards nature and living things. "The Hubertus fair reminds us of the respectful use of nature and all living things," he emphasized.
tradition and music in harmony with nature
An important part of the fair was the musical accompaniment by the Jagdhorn wind group Jennersdorf. Her powerful sounds, which brought in traditional hunting music, created a festive atmosphere that perfectly rounded off the service. In particular, the famous "Hubertus sounds" felt that those present felt the connection to the hunting culture and the surrounding nature.
As part of the ceremony, the hunting company received a blessed statue of St. Hubertus, which was ceremoniously presented by the hunting director Hermann Deutsch. This statue will find a significant place in the hunting lodge in order to continue to remember the values and traditions that are held up in this community.
After the solemn part of the fair, the participants met for an Agape. With fresh bread and good wine, old acquaintances could be refreshed and new contacts were made. This sociable gathering offered an ideal framework to end the festive atmosphere after the service.
The Hubertusmesse in German Kaltenbrunn once again demonstrated how firmly rooted the hunting culture in the region is. It shows that even in modern times the respectful handling of nature and the care of traditions are of great importance. The hunting company can look back on a successful event that was both spiritual and festive. Already on Sunday the hunters opened up again to practice their joint hobby.
