Enjoyment in Dallas: Discover the new Tasting menus in the Rye

The wooden spoon swings very high in Dallas, because the city is currently experiencing a real upswing in terms of tasting menu. If you are a gourmet and like to risk having a talented boss spoiled with five to twelve surprising courses, then the possibilities are now almost endless.

Funny, this trend is independent of the introduction of the Michelin Guides. This renowned award is known for your preference for sophisticated, chief -guided gastronomy. One could assume that the current development in Dallas is due to the guide, but that's not the case. Local restaurants like Georgie and Rye have planned their special menus long before the guides' announcement in Texas.

A look at the experience at Rye

A visit to the Rye restaurant is a pleasure. The hosts, including Taylor Rause, Jay Vopatek and Tanner Agar, take their craft seriously and have set themselves the goal of expanding the limits of culinary creativity with each dish. For the guests, the participation in this experience is pure fun. With a lot of wit and joy of experimentation, Rye offers dishes that go far beyond the usual offer in Dallas.

It starts with the first delicacies. Instead of ordinary napkins, guests get small black towels at the beginning. After a few small snacks, the towels appear again - this time they are edible and made of rice paper, filled with Grana Padano cheese and Porchetta Rillettes. This shows the creative influence of Rye's sister bar apothecary, which has presented a menu inspired by the world of Alice in Wonderland.

The first dish is particularly funny to look like a dessert, but consists of hearty snacks. Take a small Pecan cheesecake that turns out to be a blue cheese cheese, or a cannoli, the filling of which consists of crab meat and caviar. A culinary magic trick that invites you to astonish!

Another highlight is a vegan variation of the classic steak tartar, in which carrots, beets and fava beans are artfully arranged and even a spherified "egg yolk" made of coconut milk is emblazoned. This dish is light and refreshing - without a cream.

A few courses later a piece of lasagna is served, which at first glance looks like a substantial meat passage. In fact, it is a creative preparation with a bolognese of beets and goat cheese. The dish is accompanied by a luxury of a sauce made of goat cheese and inheritance sponsor, which ensures the required extra kick.

Most dishes are exactly what they seem to be. A mini pirn taco is served with long braised meat and a harmonizing mezcal sauce, while half the quail dish is enthusiastic with a filling of corn bread and rabbit-like chorizo. Finally, the "Corn-Uopia" enchants with a wonderful combination of tamel, Huitlacoche, semolina, as well as an ice cream made of fresh corn and blue tortilla chips.

The finale of the menu trip awaits guests with a dessert that was created especially for the holidays-a slightly spicy chocolate coffee cake, garnished with an edible pine cone. Yes, you heard right, and yes, it is absolutely recommended to try it!

During the whole time since my first experience in Rye, I am fascinated by the creativity of the chef and the approach to democratize upscale cuisine. While the technology can sometimes not quite keep up with the imagination, the kitchen has developed in its perfection and sophistication.

ryes current menu is an experience that can measure itself with a star menu from all over the world. It is adventurous, playful and retains its own individual character, without bending the global uniform porridge of the upscale gastronomy. If the Michelin inspectors have time to try the new creations, Rye could get recognition this season.

That is so lucky: with taxes and drinking money, the new tasting menu costs almost $ 250. Yes, this is a price for special occasions, but it is indeed a very special event. Plan a celebration-choose a random weekday and let yourself be spoiled with edible towels, caviar-cannoli and mezcal sauce.
