Graz in concern: 34-year-old for days missing-notes are urgently wanted!
Graz, Österreich - Markus P., a 34-year-old man from Graz, has been missing since June 2, 2025. Finally, the missing person was seen on the said day around 11 a.m. The "Austria finds you" platform has published a public request for information on searching for him. Markus has dark blonde hair, is over 1.80 meters tall, wears glasses and has a striking full beard. In the event of sights or information, the residents are asked to notify the police immediately. On top of that, eleven other missing people are mentioned in the region, including Elias T., an 18-year-old man from Neumarkt, who has also been missing since June 2, as well as Beatrix D., a 62-year-old woman from Köstenberg who has been dependent on May 14, 2025.
For many families, such missing persons are an emotional nightmare. In Austria, according to [Kleine Zeitung] (https://www.kleinezeitung.at/oesterreich/4679260/oesterreich_824-menschen-gelten-in-oesterreich-als, 824 people are missing. This includes both minors and adults, although it often remains unclear why they have disappeared. It is particularly worrying that in 44 cases of missing minors is assumed. Regine Wieselthaler-Buchmann, the head of the International Police Cooperation Department, emphasized that social problems are often behind the missing persons.
The current situation
The reluctance of young people to live in welfare institutions means that they sometimes see the escape as a solution. Prevention measures were carried out in Linz and Bad Ischl to tackle this problem, which has previously led to a sunken input of discharge ads.
The police work is supported by a new tool that is supposed to help collect detailed data about missing people. It is particularly interesting to use the aging methodology, which enables photos of missing persons to be artificially aged to make their search easier. This can be particularly useful for longer discounts, such as in the 7,705 discount ads that were registered in 2014.
The geography of the missing persons
Most missing cases concentrate on Vienna with a total of 280 cases, while Burgenland has the lowest rate with only 11 cases. Some of them are also people who have disappeared in alpine areas or waters, often without finding again. One investigator even estimated that around 100 people have disappeared into Lake Constance and in the border triangle.
In the case of Markus P., the urgency to find him is high. The investigators hope for useful information from the public that can contribute to solving this case. In the course of a more precise analysis of the missing persons, it becomes clear how multifaceted and complex the problem is. Another call to vigilance can only help to save more people and to reduce the despair of relatives.
