Digital Christmas crib shines in Eisenstadt: A new experience!
On Thursday, December 5, 2024, an innovative digital Christmas crib was inaugurated at the Bischofshof in Eisenstadt. Diocesan bishop Aegidius Zsifkovics and State Councilor Leonhard Schneeman were present at the opening and emphasized the need to use modern technology in order to convey the Christmas message in a contemporary way. Zsifkovics referred to St. Franz von Assisi, who first set up cribs living 800 years ago to persuade people to reflect on the birth of Jesus. "Today in the 21st century, in the age of the Internet and streaming, we want to invite people to think about the birth of Jesus with a 'digital crib'," said the bishop, like burgenland.at reported.
The digital crib will be visited every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in front of the Bischofshof at St. Rochus-Straße 21. At the ceremonial inauguration, the event was enriched with Christmas carols by pupils of the high school at the Wolfgarten. Tea, mulled wine and small delicacies were ready for the guests. The presentation of the digital crib, which is a new experience for the visitors, received amazed faces, such as "https://www.meinbeirbezirk.at/eisenstadt/c-lokales/digitale-krippe-am-bischofshof-eisenstadt-eroeffnet_a7048406" This modern interpretation of Christmas consumption not only offers a visual attraction, but is also intended to serve to keep the intellectual legacy and the message of the crib alive.
