Wimpassinger municipal councilor Ackerbauer is changing to the list of common sense
Hans Ackerbauer, the local party chairman and municipal council in Wimpassing, took a significant step in his political career. He leaves the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) and follows the newly founded "List of common sense" under the leadership of GEZA Molnar. This change shows the ongoing trend of emigration within the FPÖ and could result in a wave of similar decisions. Ackerbauer is not the first to make this decision; Already in August the FPÖ councilor Alexander Reinprecht announced his departure from the FPÖ and switched to Molnaran.
Due to his trouble about the series of lists on the upcoming state election, Ackerbauer has made the decision to take the step. He was originally nominated for second place in the Eisenstadt area district, while the former National Councilor Christian Ries took first place. Ackerbauer complained that when the candidates are drawn up, personal relationships with the party leadership were decisive and not the real skills or views of the candidates. He is convinced that the political ideals will be represented at the "List of Household".
critical voices for FPÖ
The FPÖ achieved a strong result of 35.5 percent in the National Council election in September 2024, but this does not reflect the success of the last municipal council election. In this election, the party under Ackerbauer's leadership had a minus of twelve points, and Ackerbauer itself could not prevail as a candidate for mayor. These developments have probably contributed to his decision to change the party.
GEFA MOLNAR, which leads the "List Household", sees the growth of farmers as a reinforcement that will give its political movement a new momentum. This could be particularly important for the upcoming state election. Ackerbauer not only brings experience, but also the opportunity to address new voters and possibly even to regain the voters of the FPÖ in Wimpassing.
This dynamic within the FPÖ and the rise of new political movements such as the “List of Main Corporation” offer interesting insights into the current political landscape and its developments. The coming months will show whether other politicians will follow this example and what effects this could have on the political balance of power in the region.
