New shine for Wulkradersdorf's train station: more parking spaces and security
On Tuesday morning, the groundbreaking ceremony for the comprehensive expansion project of the Wulkradersdorf train station took place in the Eisenstadt-Umgebung district. This project includes investments of 12.6 million euros and aims to design the train station of modern and barrier -free. State Councilor Heinrich Dorner (SPÖ) emphasized that these measures should make the switch to public transport more attractive.
A central element of the expansion is the construction of a second park-and-ride system, which will expand the previous 230 parking spaces to over 400. In addition, the construction of e-charging stations and a feeder stop are planned. The bicycle parking facilities should also be improved by creating additional bicycle parking spaces and lockable bicycle storage boxes.
important improvements for users
To make access to the platforms easier, a new person's tunnel is created. This acquisition is intended to help Wulkradersdorf become a modern mobility hub. "Our goal is to make the future of traffic sustainable and thereby persuade more people to use public transport," explained Dorner.
The construction work begins in December and is expected to take one year. Ulrich Flamm, an infrastructure expert and board member of Raaberbahn AG, emphasized the importance of such investments. "The Raaberbahn stands for the importance of cross -border cooperation," he emphasized. Janos Perenyi, CEO of the Raaberbahn, was pleased with the positive cooperation with the various partners who are involved in this project.
The financing of the entire project takes place by the state, the federal government and the Raaberbahn, which underlines the importance of this measure for the region. The aim is to create a train station that meets state -of -the -art standards and meets the needs of passengers. Including all planned elements, the Wulkradersdorf train station wants to become an important hub in the transport network.
These developments are a step in the right direction for improving public transport in the region and showing that sustainability and accessibility are increasingly becoming the focus of the planning. For detailed information about the project, we refer to the article by burgenland.orf .
