Burgenland relies on safety: heating price lid also remains in 2024!

Burgenland, Österreich - On December 17, 2024, there were remarkable news from Burgenland. According to the Credit Protection Association of 1870, the number of private bankruptcies in this region has dropped drastically by 12.3 percent. SPÖ club chairman Roland Fürst sees this as proof of successful politics under Governor Hans Peter Doskozil. "Social, stable and safe - it is not for nothing that our slogan," explains Fürst and emphasizes the numerous relief measures that benefit the Burgenlanders. This includes the heat price lid, of which 23,000 households benefit, as well as the living cost cover, which has already supported 16,315 households. These political decisions have led to the income in Burgenland above the Austrian average and the cost of living remains comparatively low.

In order to secure the citizens in the future with increasing heating costs, Governor Doskozil announced that the heat price lid will be extended until 2024. According to the announcements, Burgenländer pay: only up to 3 percent of their annual income for heating costs, depending on their net annual income. This measure is considered important in order to counteract potential inflations, especially through crises in the Middle East. In a recent survey, 64 percent of Burgenländer state that the heat price lid is helpful. The governor and also prince criticize the federal government, which in their opinion does not do enough to combat inflation and support the population. This political differentiation emphasizes the importance of Burgenland in the Austrian context, which positions itself as a stable anchor in turbulent times.
