Picture book inspires 10,000 fans in Vienna: anniversary with special surprises!
The Austrian band Bilderbuch celebrated a spectacular concert on the occasion of its 20th anniversary in the Stadthalle Vienna on Thursday. Around 10,000 fans came together to celebrate the band's musical journey, which also honored the 10th anniversary of their reference CD "Schick Shock". The concert began with the impressive song "Softpower", accompanied by siren-like sounds and fire-breathing LED walls, which the audience immediately captivated.
front man Maurice Ernst welcomed the fans with provocative words and compared himself to Rihanna. The most exalted style of the singer, inspired by legends such as Falco, caused enthusiastic reactions in the audience. During the concert over two hours, the band showed a strong live performance, even if the volume of the sound was sometimes too high and subtleties were lost in the instrumental game. The band received support from the jazz musician Lukas König, who at times played on drums and keyboards.
versatile program and special moments
Musically, the band offered a 20-minute jam session version of "Airbags", which began as a synth pop and increased in rock with improvised elements, musically about the many hits such as "machine", "Gigolo" and "Bungalow". The audience was also active when Maurice Ernst kept monologues about topics such as religion and body odor during the concert. The mood was always exuberant, even if Ernst in between addressed his aversion to the color, which briefly impaired the concentration of the audience.
guitarist Michael Krammer appeared in striking glitter pants and with a fur hood, while bass player Peter Horazdovsky even wore an "Inter Milan" jersey. The highlights of the evening were not only the main songs, but also the six impressive encores, including "Spliff", "Sweetlove" and "Om", which demonstrated the stylistic diversity of the band and their joy of playing.
an unforgettable evening
Overall, picture book presented itself as a band during the concert that can captivate the audience. The evening was not banned as overwhelming, but the event was consistently entertaining and showed the band's passion for their music. This is not only reflected in the full halls, but also in the annual statistics on live music events in Austria, which are provided by the authors, composers and music publisher (AKM) and the continued popularity of concerts [statistics.at] .
like OE24 , the town hall as a concert location was perhaps a bit too big for the band, but the impressive light and sound effects and the interaction with the audience were quickly forgotten. Despite some technical difficulties, the audience remained enthusiastic and celebrated the anniversary of the band from Austria with great joy.
