Touching professions: Over 2,500 students: Inside at the AK Kids Mass!

Wr. Neustadt, Österreich - On June 6, 2025, in the casemates of Wr. Neustadt the second edition of the AK Kids trade fair "Professions to attack", in which 2,543 students: inside took part. The event offered children the unique opportunity to try out different professions and collect initial information. Numerous companies, schools and institutions presented child -friendly career opportunities and made it possible for the young participant: to test manual skill with materials, devices and machines. Markus Wieser, President of AK Lower Austria, emphasized the importance of early professional orientation for children and adolescents. Direct contact between the children and regional companies is crucial to promote talents and strengths at an early stage. Monika Eisenhuber, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce Lower Austria, also referred to the importance of initiatives that aim to convey practical knowledge of young people. The fair in Wr. Neustadt takes place in Vösendorf after the successful information event in February 2023, in which 2,200 pupils: inside.

The fair is part of a wider initiative for career orientation, which begins in school. Information of the Federal Employment Agency show that individual career counseling and orientation offers are decisive for the development of young people. The agencies for work lead students: inside different job profiles and support them in identifying their interests and skills.

In North Rhine-Westphalia, Bavaria and other federal states, there are programs such as career accompaniment that were specially developed for schoolchildren: inside with difficulties in graduation. This accompaniment extends into vocational training for up to six months and supports the integration into the training company.

The range of professions is extremely diverse in Germany and Austria. In Lower Austria, Sandra Kern, state manager of the AMS, indicates over 2,000 different professions and 210 apprenticeships. The various initiatives for career orientation, such as the programs offered by BMBF , aim to fight the shortage of skilled workers in the long term and at the same time to support young people when entering their professional life.
