From 5 to August 10, 2025, the Baden lido in Austria will be the scene of the FIVB World Beach Pro Tour Baden Challenge. This significant event is organized by HSG Events and the Austrian Volleyball Association (ÖVV) and promises to attract international top athletes from countries such as the USA, Brazil, China, Sweden and Norway. This tournament not only offers the opportunity to collect prestigious world ranking points, but is also an important step towards qualifying for the World Cup in Australia in November 2025. Baden Challenge is also accompanied by the support of the Ministry of Sports, the Sportland Lower Austria and various sponsors.

The Baden Challenge is a historical event for the city of Baden. For the first time, a FIVB World Beach Pro Tour Challenge will be held here. The event fits into the activities in beach volleyball that have existed since 2018, through which Baden has become an important location in this sport. The organizers, Dominik Gschiegl and his team, are optimistic, Olympic champion: inside and world champions: to welcome the inside. In addition to the Baden Challenge, the CEV U22 European Championship in the same stadium, which attracts around 240 teams, will be held a week later, from August 14th to 17th.
To enable the bathing challenge to be carried out, HSG events and ÖVV negotiated with the CEV and the FIVB for several weeks. The requirements for a challenge tournament are significantly stricter than in a futures tournament, which significantly underlines the successes of these organizations. Sports Councilor Udo Landbauer sees the event not only as a sporty highlight, but also as an economic impulse for the region, which further increases the anticipation for the upcoming event.
