Red alarm level: 50,000 Russians threaten the offensive against Sumy!
Sumy, Ukraine - Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj has transmitted alarming news from the Sumy region. According to VOL.AT, around 50,000 Russian soldiers are currently stationed there who are preparing for an offensive. In response to this, Kiev takes measures to prevent a large -scale Russian offensive.
Selenskyj further informs that the strongest Russian forces are concentrated on the Kursk front. In the past few days, the Ukrainian armed forces have been able to push the Russian troops back in the region by four kilometers. Nevertheless, Russia has already taken at least four border villages and moves up in eastern Ukraine, especially close to Kostjantyniwka.
geopolitical tensions and military strategy
The situation is pussy because Selenskyj warns that Russia is planning to exceed the administrative border with the DniPro region, which has so far failed. The Russian Defense Minister Andrej Belousow explains that the troops move forward to almost all front sections. In a distracting political rhetoric, Belouusow accuses NATO of using the Ukraine war to expand its presence in Eastern Europe.
In addition, the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lawrov has indicated further negotiations with Ukraine. The long -term goal here would be that Ukraine accepts the status of a neutral country. While the military conflicts are increasing, Selenskyj plans his participation in the next G7 summit and probably also at the EU summit.
armaments and European support
Against the background of this threatening military situation, Omid Nouripour, a leading Greens politician in Germany, calls for the federal government a clear statement on the Taurus marching sky bodies. In an interview with the TV station Phoenix, he criticizes the SPD for its undecided attitude to the delivery of these weapon systems, which could be of the utmost importance for Ukraine. Nouripour notes that it is now time to become active before more time is lost.In this context, Tagesschau.de emphasizes that Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz plans to abolish the reach restrictions on arms to Ukraine. This decision could affect the Mars rocket launcher system with a range of 85 kilometers. Merz emphasizes that this decision was made a few months ago and it is now more urgent than ever to strengthen support for Ukraine.
The military experts, however, warn of possible problems. Military expert Franz-Stefan Gady expresses that Russia undertakes loss-making advances in Ukraine, but is currently unable to carry out a large-scale offensive. The lack of infantry remains one of the main difficulties for Ukraine, even if the inventory of ammunition and other military capacities appear sufficient to prevent an operational breakthrough of the Russians.
The development of the conflict was shaped by Russia's strategy to bleed the Ukrainian armed forces, as far as air defense is concerned. However, Ukrainian air defense is still competitive. How long this situation continues depends on the ability of the Ukrainian front to withstand the exhaustion of the Russian forces.
