30 years of Heidi Alm: anniversary festival at 1,875 meters high!

On July 13, 2025, the Heidi Alm celebrates its 30th anniversary in Carinthia. The celebration takes place at 1,875 meters and invites all mountain fans to celebrate this anniversary. The Heidi Alm was launched in 1995 by Gisela Köfer as a heart project, with the idea of actively revitalizing the declining hiking tourism. Every year over 30,000 guests visit the adventure park, which today houses impressive 130 unique Heidi figures.

The basic idea for the Heidi Alm came up as early as 1993. In 1994, the license rights were secured on the popular Heidi-sign tricks of Taurus Film AG and began working with the Cologne artist Herbert Labusga, who designed the first two prototypes of the figures Heidi and Peter. The Heidi Alm was ceremoniously opened a year later, and over 20,000 visitors were recorded in the first summer.

a diverse anniversary program

The anniversary festival begins on July 13, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. The highlights of the festival program include the greeting by the mascots Heidi and Peter, an official opening with the Trachtenkapelle Patergassen and appearances by regional groups as well as a magic show. The festival is rounded off by regional products and alpine pasture, pony riding and an exciting Heidi quiz, in which the draw of the main prize, an overnight stay in the Heidi Hotel, will take place at 2:30 p.m.

The Heidi Alm not only offers beautiful landscapes and impressive figures, but also a variety of attractions that attract families and hiking friends. The barrier-free circular route of around 1 kilometer length leads the visitors through 28 scenes from the Heidi world and combines childhood memories with natural experiences and family warmth.

further development of the experience park

Since the opening, Heidi Alm has continued to develop. There were already 81 figures in 2000, and in 2002 the area was expanded to 28,000 square meters. Other milestones were the emergence of the Heidi-Fischeich in 2004, the 10th anniversary with the 105th figure in 2005, as well as the construction of a marmot enclosure in 2014 and a wooden playground in 2020. One of the latest developments is the replacement of the giant slide by a Zirbenwald tube slide in 2023

For adventurous people, the surroundings of the Heidi Alm also offer via ferrata that starts in the Sunday valley above the Falkertsees. These via ferratas are created in different levels of difficulty and offer an exciting experience for both beginners and experienced climbers. Information and bookings for guided via ferrata tours are available in the Heidi-Hotel.

The Heidi Alm remains a popular attraction for families and nature lovers. The combination of interactive stations, resting places and seasonal events creates unforgettable experiences for young and old. Those who have not yet visited the Alm have the perfect opportunity at the anniversary festival to immerse themselves in the magical world of the Heidi-Alm.
