200 years of Musikkapelle Abfaltersbach: A festival of sounds and tradition!

Abfaltersbach, Österreich - The Musikkapelle Abfaltersbach celebrates its 200th anniversary in July 2025. The event is integrated into the framework of the traditional Oberländer district music festival, which will be celebrated from July 25th to 27th. Chairman Johann Duregger and Kapellmeister Helmut Oberdorfer have organized the celebrations that begin with a march of the anniversary music band and rifle companies. The ceremony promises to become an important event for the community and the region.

The march starts on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m., followed by a concert by the Abfaltersbach musician: inside. The highlight of the evening will be the appearance of the band "Schnopsidee" at 10:00 p.m. On Saturday, the music band of the Musikverein Freistadt Rust will be accompanied by Burgenland sounds at 10:00 p.m. in front of the "Partyhirschen".

Festive program

Sunday starts at 9:30 a.m. with a holy mass at the fairground. Then chapels appear from the neighboring communities, including:

• 12:15 p.m.: Music band Innervillgraten

The ceremony at 1:30 p.m. in addition to appearances by "Das Kapellchen" also provides honors. In the afternoon there are other short concerts, including:

The upcoming anniversary is no coincidence: the music band has become increasingly important in recent decades. Albin Pircher is one of the best staff leaders of Tyrol and has significantly shaped the brass music scene in Abfaltersbach. This contributed to strengthening the cohesion in the community and promoted the traditional care of brass music in the region.

With the anniversary and the Oberländer district music festival, future generations of musicians will also be commemorated.
