Eva Pinkelnig fights for comeback: This is how she wants to shine at the World Cup!
The Austrian ski jumper Eva Pinkelnig is about to be the World Cup in Trondheim. The Vorarlberg woman, who won the silver medal in 2023, emphasizes that, despite some challenges, she has no high expectations. She explained that the competition was not only physical, but also a mental nature. "It always means focusing on the positive. But the fight in the head is a constant challenge," said Pinkelnig. A constant struggle that she wants to win to hide disruptive thoughts will have to consider in the first training sessions, reports Laola1 .
At the beginning of the week, Pinkelnig was already successfully playing in Trondheim. She landed on the podium twice: on Tuesday she reached second place on the normal hill and on Wednesday she jumped to third place in the competition on the big hill. Only the Slovenin Nika Prevc and the Norwegian local hero Eirin Maria Kvandal were faster. "I'm happy, Trondheim is good for me. It's all very nice here and I'm really looking forward to the World Cup next year," enthused Pinkelnig, who looks back on an "incredible season". Nevertheless, catching up against PrevC remains a challenge in the overall ranking, such as South Tyrol News
competition and mental strength
Pinkelnig is confident that it can call up the performance that is necessary for top placement. "There has to be a lot together. The whole thing is fragile, but on the other hand it is also stable," she explained the balance between performance and emotions. Apart from the sporting challenges, it is the dialogue with her team that helps her to cope with the mental and emotional load. Despite the difficulties, she is ready to face the next competitions and hopes to take the positive knowledge and experiences in the upcoming challenges.
With a view to the World Cup, Pinkelnig shows determination. "Now it is time to find the fire, enjoy the whole thing. A World Cup is simply something special." Her repeated podium ratings in Trondheim give her additional confidence for the upcoming challenge. It remains optimistic that a medal will also be possible for you in the upcoming World Cup.
