Kickl's negotiation team: Men's alliance without women's power?
The coalition negotiations under the leadership of Herbert Kickl, the fpö chairman, are in full swing and promise through their composition and numerous critical connections. Kickl has formed a core team of seven members, four of whom belong to the German-national camp of the striking fraternities. This is a striking step because it shows that despite the pressure on gender equality is only one woman part of the body, which contradicts the previous political efforts of the FPÖ, such as News reported.
In the conversations, Kickl, who is considered rhetorically versed, strives for a strong position towards the turquoise by making demands for honesty and unity. The FPÖ is not very reserved: Kickl describes itself as a "folk chancellor", even if he emphasizes that this is not an unnecessary goal. He is supported by his Secretary General Christian Hafenecker, who notoriously acts against the ÖVP and could possibly immerse yourself in an infrastructure policy. The network of the fraternity within the team raises a critical question, especially since their connections have already led to controversy in the past, as Oe24
critical connections and ambitions
In addition to Hafenecker,Kickl's team also consists of Norbert Nemeth, whose membership in an academic fraternity recently brought him negative headlines. The investigation against him triggered by a video in which he sings a controversial song stir up the public discussion about the political integrity of the team. Other members such as Reinhard Teufel and Arnold Schiefer are also rooted in the FPÖ and bring both political experience and controversial connections into the negotiations.
The FPÖ has clearly positioned itself against the established media and the ÖVP in the past, and the powerful discourse under Kickl could now result in concrete political measures. It remains to be seen how these political ambitions and strategic alliances will affect national politics, while the FPÖ is still in public.
