Illegal cannabis products: Viennese market office is alarm!

In a large-scale use, the Vienna market office recently confiscated numerous illegal products from CBD shops and machines. In the raids, foods were discovered with a THC content of up to 3 percent-that is ten times the permitted value. These products must not be sold or consumed, as Marktamtsltschauer Andreas Kutheil emphasizes. It is particularly alarming that some of these articles have been offered in machines that are accessible at all times, which is a considerable risk, especially for young people. These supposedly harmless products, such as biscuits and gummy bears, can develop intoxicating effects and be misleading as legal goods, as Kutheil explains. Panic attacks and anxiety are possible consequences of an uncontrolled intake.

To combat food waste, the market office in cooperation with the Wiener Tafel also opened a new collection point on the Brunnenmarkt. The aim is to save discarded foods, which are usually only discarded due to small optical defects and are yet fresh and enjoyable. Marketam Director Kutheil found that this cooperation that has existed for nine years ensures that many tons of potential food waste do not end up in the trash, but benefit people in need. The Wiener Tafel saves up to four tons of food every day and provides it with social institutions, which makes an important contribution to the throw -away company. gastro.news emphasizes that this initiative is particularly important on the international day against food waste.
