Christmas magic in Offenbach: Nikolaus inspires big and small guests!
The traditional Christmas party of the Offenbach district association of Transylvanian Saxony took place on December 1st in the festively decorated event room. The event attracted numerous guests who came together in a warm atmosphere and with Christmas charm. The celebration began with a warm greeting by the state chairman Ingwelde Juchum, followed by musical performances by Victoria Wonner on the flute and Marlene Linz on the violin, who delighted those present with polyphonic Christmas carols. The tastefully covered tables offered a rich buffet that not only included homemade cookies, but also typical specialties such as lard breads with red onions and acidic cucumbers.A particularly emotional moment was a visit to Santa Claus, who delighted the children with gifts and warm words. The bright eyes of the children and the singing together of Christmas carols contributed to the festive atmosphere. The day was a nice review of traditions and the coexistence of the Transylvanian Saxons, who would also like to keep their culture alive with various events in the coming year, as siebbuerger.de reported.
60 years of Transylvanian Saxons in NRW
Just a short time before, at the same place, the state group North Rhine-Westphalia of the Transylvanian Saxons celebrated an impressive 60th anniversary in the Gummersbach town hall. The celebration began with a service, followed by a parade in which numerous participants in traditional costumes showed the diversity and culture of the community. Framed by the sounds of the brass bands, numerous representatives of public life took part in the celebration, including NRW Prime Minister Hannelore Kraft and the Romanian Consul General Dr. Vlad Vasiliu. This anniversary celebration emphasized the rich history and the successful integration of the Transylvanian Saxons in Germany, such as Drabenderhohe.de found.
