VW crisis in Salzgitter: Whether Klingebiel raises the alarm and demands clarity!
At Volkswagen in Salzgitter there is an alarm mood! The latest news from the group headquarters in Wolfsburg have some employees for sleep. The Mayor of Salzgitter, Frank Klingebiel (CDU), can no longer hold his displeasure on the decisions of the VW base and breaks his silence.
"The procedure of the board is incredible," bangs Klingebiel. The termination of the job guarantee that has existed for 30 years causes excitement! From next July the first painting in the ranks of the VW employees could threaten. "It is a breach of culture and trust that we have never experienced before!" Explains and underlines the explosive location. Volkswagen's sudden change of course leaves questions: Why isn't the dialogue searched first before such radical decisions are made? This approach only creates uncertainty and fear among colleagues, warns Klingenbiel and warns of a "robbery attack on the good social partnership" at VW.
solidarity with those affected
Frank Klingebiel leaves no doubt that the resistance will be great. "This step will result in bitter resistance of the works councils, the workforce, IG Metall and politics," he predicts. Special support comes from the mayors of the location municipalities and the Lower Saxony City Day, which together stand together to the side of the workforce. "We count on the influence of our Prime Minister Stephan Weil and our deputy Prime Minister Julia Willie Hamburg on the Supervisory Board of Volkswagen."
Not only the savings plans cause unrest: Despite the challenges on the E-Markt, Volkswagen has big plans for the factory premises in Salzgitter, with the aim of expanding the production facility into a battery center. Investments of around two billion euros are at stake, which directly affects the future of over 7,500 employees! Will Salzgitter be the electrical heart of VW? Or is reality as a dark picture? That remains to be seen!
