In Wincheringen, an important step for the region was taken last Friday: The foundation for a new sports, cultural and disaster protection hall was laid! This impressive construction project, which is estimated at 8.6 million euros, will not only act as a lighthouse project for the Obermosel, but also serve as a central meeting point for the people in Wincheringen and beyond.

Around 70 top-class guests, including the Luxembourg Minister of the Interior Léon Gloden and State Secretary Petra Dick-Walther, gathered in the primary school auditorium to celebrate this historical event. Mayor Jürgen Dixius and Mayor Elmar Schömann emphasized the immense importance of the hall, which not only promote civic exchange, but will also significantly increase the quality of life in the region. "The premises will explicitly be available to people on both sides of the German-Luxemburg border," says Dixius. A real sign for cross -border cooperation!

The new multi -purpose hall will have an external dimension of around 38 × 55 meters and offers space for a 1000m² field with grandstand for around 300 people. In addition, there will be an open foyer, changing rooms and versatile rooms that will benefit the local community of Wincheringen. "The project is an important milestone for the liveliness of the region," emphasized State Secretary Dick-Walther, while district member Martin Alten described the hall as essential for the infrastructure in the entire district of Trier-Saarburg.

The project is financed by a combination of federal and state funds of around 4 million euros, while the local community contributes around 1 million euros. This project is not only an architectural highlight, but also a symbol of cooperation and cohesion in the region.
