Welcome to Stemwede: celebrate newborns with a colorful reception!
A special welcome day for new parents was held in the municipality of Stemwede, organized by Mayor Kai Abruszat. Around 50 pairs of parents took part in the event at the Wehdem meeting place, which served to make it easier for new citizens to get started in the community. The event included an informative bus tour through the community, led by community employee Marcel Hahne, to introduce the participants to the diversity of the 13 districts. Meanwhile, the parents were able to obtain information about the various offers for families in Stemwede over coffee and bread rolls. Abruszat emphasized that well-being and connection are important from the start to provide a sense of belonging.
Positive development of births
The municipality of Stemwede has already recorded 98 births this year, which is stable compared to the previous year. Despite a slight decline in birth rates in recent years, Mayor Abruszat sees no reason to worry, as the numbers ensure the existence of primary schools in the municipality. This means that several entrance classes can be formed again for the coming school year. In the conversations with the new arrivals, great interest was shown in the diverse offerings of the community.
Mayor Kai Abruszat, who was elected mayor on September 13, 2015 and has a political career in the FDP, is optimistic about the future of the community. He would like to continue his commitment to citizens with such welcoming events in order to promote a strong sense of community. Abruszat, who has already worked successfully in the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia, plans to offer these welcome events again in the future in order to comprehensively support and integrate the new citizens.
