Transfer miscellaneous: ICEHL teams are preparing for next season!
Squad planning for the 2025/26 season of the win2day ICE Hockey League (ICEHL) is in full swing. The start of the season is scheduled for September 12, 2025, and the transfers of the 13 participating teams are currently in full swing. While some clubs have already completed their transfer activities, others still have unanswered questions regarding their squad composition. Laola1 reports that EC Red Bull Salzburg is among the teams that have already taken action.
The champions EC Red Bull Salzburg have announced some well-known additions: Connor Corcoran from the Bakersfield Condors from the USA and Michael Raffl, who previously played for Lausanne HC in Switzerland, are joining the squad. On the departure side are Philipp Krening, Ryan Murphy and Phillip Sinn, who are all moving to EHC Red Bull Munich, as well as Chay Genoway, who is ending his career. Paul Stapelfeldt is moving to the Graz99ers and Scott Kosmachuk is also leaving the club.
Transfers and squad changes from other teams
A look at the KAC shows that they also have to record some departures. Kevin Clark has ended his career, while Thomas Klassek is moving to RPI in the USA. Senna Peeters is also leaving the KAC for Vienna Capitals. For the KAC, the decisions regarding Johannes Bischofberger and Oliver Lam are still pending. Hockey News also informs that this squad restructuring is part of a larger strategy to strengthen the team.
HC Bozen has signed three new players: Bryce Misley (Asiago Hockey), Shane Gersich (Iserlohn Roosters) and Philip Samuelsson (Straubing Tigers). At the same time, they have to record a number of departures: Simon Bourque, Cole Hults and Giordano Finoro are leaving the team. At the Black Wings Linz, Luis Lindner from the University of New Hampshire and Aljaz Predan from the Vienna Capitals are new to the team, while several players, including Lorenz Lindner and Maximilian Theirich, have left the club.
The Graz99ers have also been active in the transfer market and signed players such as Chris Collins from the Augsburger Panthers and Nick Swaney from the Chicago Wolves. However, they also suffered a number of departures, including Jakob Engelhart and Markus Hanl, who both moved to Adler Kitzbühel. The Graz99ers still have no clear options in goal after a goalie solution is off the table.
Further team activities and squad questions
VSV has signed Luca Erne from Pioneers Vorarlberg and Adam Helewka from HC Bozen, while Benjamin Lanzinger and Marco Richter have ended their careers. Here too, decisions about future players are still pending. HC Pustertal has tried to strengthen the offensive department with two young strikers and announced two important contract extensions. Teams are actively exchanging players and there is a lot of speculation about domestic and legionnaire players still available. There are interesting signings here, as some well-known Austrian defenders are still on the market, while the Pioneers Vorarlberg squad addition could attract new talent. Hockey News emphasizes that the teams are acting strategically and examining options for their squad construction in the coming weeks and months.
Overall, there is a dynamic picture in the win2day ICEHL, where teams are actively looking for reinforcements in both defense and offense. The coming months will be crucial in setting the course for a successful season.
