Change at the top: Jens Plate takes over Bauverein Sulingen!
Jens Plate will take over the management of the Sulingen building association from Detlef Detlefsen on January 1, 2025. Detlefsen, who has been on the board of the building association for five and a half years, is planning his retirement and will support Plate as deputy until the fall. He emphasizes that the construction club's successes were achieved as a team and do not depend solely on him.
Since the building association was incorporated into the Volksbank in 2021, 49 new apartments have been built as part of the developments and the workforce has been expanded by 20%. In addition, a nativity scene was realized for Sulingen as an important project. Jens Plate, 55 years old, started his career at Volksbank Bassum in 1989 and previously worked in various departments, including as managing director of VOBA Immobilien GmbH.
Future projects and digitalization strategies
Plate has already gained positive impressions of the branch and sees great potential in the new building and property management. Future projects include housing construction in Marklohe-Lemke and the establishment of a second KG with the Hoya building association. Digitalization will also be an important topic for him, especially in connection with the move to the new branch on Schmelingstrasse.
Stefan Ullmann, CEO of Volksbank Niedersachsen-Mitte, praised the succession plan and Detlef Detlefsen's achievements to date. During the renovation phase of the service point, it will remain a contact point for members and tenants in the city center. Once the renovation work has been completed, the service point will be located centrally on Schmelingstrasse. The current location at Vogelsang will be rented out after modernization.
Modern workplaces for the Volksbank Niedersachsen-Mitte will be set up on the first floor and in the attic of the “Alte Post”. Since the bank's headquarters are within sight and walking distance, there is an increased need for space. The purchase contract for the “Alte Post” was signed at the beginning of September, and detailed planning for the renovation will begin shortly to ensure a smooth start to the work Volksbank Niedersachsen-Mitte reported.
