Wrong factual claims: Media delete explosive reports about Usmanow!
The German news agency "Tagesschau" fully deleted an article on March 7, 2025 about the Uzbek-Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanow and his sister Gulbakhor Ismailova. This was done after the submission of punitive declarations of cease and desists, which referred to false factual claims in the report. It was mistakenly claimed that Usmanow had luxurious real estate in Germany, including on Lake Tegernsee, and the mega yacht "Dilbar", which is supposed to be part of his sister. Due to the false reporting, large media have already signed similar declarations of cease and relief as reported. The "Tagesschau" and the NDR, which is responsible for the news program, have repeatedly spread such false information and must now pay contractual penalties after they have violated existing declarations
withdrawn and deleted
In addition, the German news agency dpa has withdrawn an article that contained similar wrong claims about Ismailova. This article served as the basis for sanctions by the EU Council against the entrepreneur, which was based on the claim that it owned the "dilbar". A representative of Usmanow made it clear that the yacht is in an irrevocable trust fund through which neither Usmanow nor Ismailova have control. In the course of this legal clarification, the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) has withdrawn its previous statements about Ismailova as the owner of the "Dilbar" and deleted corresponding posts on social media. These measures took place in order to avoid future legal disputes.
Joachim Steinhöfel, who represents the interests of Usmanow and Ismailova, criticized the Situation as absurd and as a clear violation of the basic principles of the rule of law, since media reports are used as the basis for legal sanctions against individuals.
