Offenbach goes new path: health for everyone - strong together!

The city of Offenbach has taken a crucial step to strengthen health promotion and prevention. As part of the annual subject of the Coordination Center Health Equal Opportunities (KGC) of the Hessian Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Health Promotion (Hage), Offenbach officially joined the partner process "Health for All". The event took place in Marburg on September 5 and attracted numerous important players in Health Promotion in Hesse.

Together with the district of Groß-Gerau, which joined at the same time, the representatives of the city received a certificate from Dr. Katharina Böhm, the managing director of the Hage. Dr. Bernhard Bornhofen, the head of the Offenbach Health Office, and Christine Langenbach, the head of the coordination office for health promotion and prevention, received the honor on behalf. During the ceremony, Dr. Bornhofen emerges from Ms. Langenbach's commitment, whose awareness now goes far beyond Offenbach.

Mayor and Health Director Sabine Groß emphasized the importance of this step in her speech: "Entry to the partner process 'Health for everyone' shows our clear commitment to promote the health of our citizens sustainably. Our goal - regardless of their social situation - is to enable the same opportunities for a healthy life." This initiative aims to intensify the cooperation between the municipalities and to align the health offers specifically to the needs of the Offenbach population.

The partner process "Health for All" has the potential to have health promotion not only in Offenbach, but also to have a lasting impact on Hesse. By promoting the exchange of knowledge and proven practices between the participating municipalities, he enables Offenbach to learn from the experiences of other cities and counties. This innovative strength can help effectively cope with current health challenges and increase the quality of life in the urban area.

"By joining the partner process, we receive valuable resources and also access to a strong network," added Groß. It referred to the special relevance of equal opportunities, especially for people in difficult social layers. These groups have often offered limited access to health -promoting, which shows urgent need for action. "We have to start and develop new strategies in order to coordinate these offers in the best possible way and to develop them in a targeted manner."
