Austria in transition: The first three-party coalition is sworn in!

After 156 long days the time has finally come! This Monday, Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen will swear in Austria's first three-party coalition at 11 a.m. in the Hofburg. This marks a historic moment for the country, as the future Chancellor Christian Stocker (ÖVP) starts his new term in office together with 13 ministers and seven state secretaries. Numerous political figures take part in the meeting, which shows the explosive nature of this government takeover. How exxpress.at reported, Volker Piesczek is already analyzing the possible effects of the new government on Austria's political landscape in a live special before the inauguration.

After the swearing-in, there will be an official handover of office from outgoing Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg to his successor Stocker in the Federal Chancellery. The new government line-up not only consists of representatives of the ÖVP, but also includes members of the SPÖ and the Neos. The most prominent faces include Vice Chancellor Andreas Babler (SPÖ) and ÖVP ministers such as Gerhard Karner (Interior Affairs) and Klaudia Tanner (Defense). The Neos send Beate Meinl-Reisinger (External Affairs) and Christoph Wiederkehr (Education) into the government, like the press highlights. The approval of the coalition by the Neos general meeting on Sunday represents the final hurdle, which was already overcome on Friday with broad support from the ÖVP and SPÖ.

Today we are not only celebrating the establishment of the new government, but are also looking forward with excitement to the upcoming changes in the various departments. The new government's tasks will include addressing housing, financial and social health challenges, which are central to this period of political transformation.
