Fight against poverty: Saarland is planning new auxiliary structures for those affected!

In a surprising turn, the Saarland state government decided not to put on the "Winter Action Saar" aid program. This was launched in autumn 2022 when the inflation rate in Germany increased and many people were threatened by poverty. A total of 1.7 million euros were made available to support social organizations who helped the needy in the cold season, as reported by Saarland.de reports . The aim is to sustainably improve the living conditions of the people affected. The plan includes, among other things, the creation of social living space and combating child poverty.

In a meeting of the Council of Ministers in Völklingen, concrete measures were decided to free the poverty -loaded quarters from their situation. A cross -departmental approach is pursued to integrate various life aspects such as education, mobility and health. In addition to financial support, local problems are discussed by workshops and interviews with those affected to develop specific solutions. Minister Jung emphasized that the goal should be a Saarland without poverty in which no one is left behind. The elimination of the “Winter Action Saar” is interpreted as an opportunity to establish clear, permanent structures for combating poverty and not only provide short -term help.
