LIVA is looking for new managers: A new beginning for Linz's cultural scene!
The Linz event company (LIVA) is facing a drastic change in leadership. From December 21st, two key positions will be advertised: commercial and artistic management, with the application deadline running until January 31st, 2025. This measure follows the recent scandal that led to the separation of Dietmar Kerschbaum and René Esterbauer, as My district reported. The chairman of the supervisory board, Meinhard Lukas, made it clear in a press conference: The new managers should form a team and take on complex management tasks that go beyond the traditional division of responsibilities.
Focus on realignment of the Brucknerfest
The artistic management, which focuses on the Brucknerhaus and its renowned events, calls for a realignment of the Brucknerfest. Lukas emphasizes that culture must have socio-political relevance. The new commercial director will take over overall responsibility for LIVA and optimize all organizational aspects. Johanna Möslinger and Alexander Stefan are currently running the company on an interim basis until the new managing directors can take up their duties in July 2025 Vienna news reported.
The selection of the new managers is carried out by a top-class commission that brings together experts from the culture and events industry. They will meet digitally in a first meeting in January. The final decision is expected to be made through a multi-stage hearing in April, with a clear focus on transparency and confidentiality throughout the process. “The new management must make the areas shine externally,” says Lukas, and that requires not only strategic skill, but also harmonious cooperation between the new directors.
