Justice scandal: Afghan belt racket seriously injured 16-year-olds!

A terrible incident occurred on Friday evening in Horn, in which a 35-year-old Afghan, known as Shafiqullah A., started with a belt on a 16-year-old boy and a 53-year-old passer-by who hurried to help. The two youngsters had previously only demonstrated to clean up an apparently abandoned shopping bag. This naive project ended brutally when the attacker, whose history remain incomprehensible with several crimes, struck without warning, while the young people wanted to eat kebab. As OE24 reported, the 53-year-old suffered a broken collarbone and the 16-year-old had to be operated on because a broken splint was the belt buckle in his head. Fortunately, the boy is now out of danger.

The incident not only triggered outrage, but also uncovered a judiciary scandal. Despite his criminal past, Shafiqullah A. was not taken into custody and was able to pose unmoved on a park bench on the same evening after the attack and laughed at the passers -by, as was reported. The politician Udo Landbauer said shocked that the high costs for the accommodation of a "measure prisoner" must be borne by the taxpayers, while their own population suffers from increasing inflation. "This cannot be justified and not accepted," he scolded. Courts and authorities are now criticized because the Afghan brutally attacked the young and the honorable helper, even though he appeared a week ago because of another incident, in which he had pressed two girls.

Now he is investigated for deliberate serious bodily harm, possibly even because of attempted murder. Although he is already registered as a rejected asylum seeker, Shafiqullah A. does not seem to be afraid of a corresponding punishment or deportation. The legal decisions that made it possible for him to remain in society after several crimes throw a dark light on the legal system and the responsibility of the authorities in Austria. This case now urges a rethink in asylum and security policy, such as OTS and OE24 reported.
