Junge Union distributes Christmas cookies: A thank you to everyday heroes!

On Christmas Eve, homemade cookies bring joy and gratitude! The Junge Union Schweinfurt-Land has once again launched a special campaign this year: for the eighth time, cookies were distributed over the holidays to honor the outstanding commitment of everyday heroes who work for the good of society at Christmas. Vanessa Schmidt, the chairwoman of the JU Schweinfurt-Land, explained: “With this campaign we would like to express our gratitude and give people a little joy that we can rely on all year round, even on Sundays and public holidays.” The cookies were presented, among others, to employees of the “Haus am Sennfelder See” care facility, the Schwebheim animal shelter and the AWO Schwebheim Senior Citizens Center to honor their commitment, such as sw1.news reported.

A monument to history

While the Junge Union takes care of the present, a historic building in Sennfeld preserves the memory of the past. The former synagogue, which was built between 1835 and 1836, served as a community center for the local Jewish community for over 100 years. Today the almost unchanged building is a local history museum and memorial that presents the history of the former Jewish communities in Adelsheim and Sennfeld. Within these walls, visitors can admire an extensive collection of documents and objects telling local history, as well as view the local archives.
