Porsche AG in upheaval: New board members take responsibility!

On February 26, 2025, there is a significant change on the board of Porsche AG: Jochen Breckner (47) takes responsibility for finance and IT, while Matthias Becker (54) will be responsible for sales and marketing. They succeed Lutz Meschke (58) and Detlev von Platen (61), which the company leave mutually. This change of board was formally announced in order to face the current challenges of the company, especially in view of the recent declines in sales and a share price that fell over 20 percent compared to the previous year, such as OE24 reported.

The new board members bring extensive experience with: Breckner, who has been working for Porsche since 2000, was most recently head of the General Secretariat and Corporate Development. During this time he also headed Porsche's IPO in 2022. Matthias Becker, on the other hand, successfully was responsible for the development of overseas and growth regions, which have now become a supporting pillar of sales. The farewell of Meschke and from Platen marks an important turning point for Porsche. Meschke had shaped the company for 24 years and has been a board member for finance and IT since 2009. From Platen, who came to Porsche in 1997, not only redesigned the sales structures, but also played a central role in the market recording of electrical models such as the Taycan and the Macan. With the new board members, Porsche wants to build on his unique success story and actively tackle the challenges of the future, as it was also emphasized by Wolfgang Porsche.
