Niina in Lapland: A strange hunting for the truth in the ice!

As part of the popular “Culinary cinema” program, the film “News from Lapland” in Offenbach will be shown on January 31, 2025. The story takes place in Lapland in Finnish in 1984 and follows the single mother Niina, who accidentally damages the panoramic window of the "Lapland News". In order to make up for the damage, she convinces the head of the newspaper to compensate for her damage with self -written articles. But when Finnish defense forces appear in the village, the situation is tense: Niina suspects that a Soviet rocket has crashed in the ice and begins an absurd-comic research.

The event, which takes place in the old locksmith of EVO and is supported by Evo Energieverorge Offenbach AG and other local partners, promises not only an entertaining film evening, but also culinary highlights. From 6:30 p.m., the guests are served delicious dishes, including fried salmon with a dill velouté, triplets and a bed apple salad. For vegetarians there is a tasty cauliflower steak and a cheesecake with a blueberry compote as a dessert. On the occasion of the film, the guests even expect a "mini rocket donut" as an amuse guele, which is in the spirit of the cinematic topic.
