Women's culture month Linz: Art, music and equality focus
The Women's Culture Month of AK Upper Austria in March 2025 offers an impressive platform for artists from various disciplines. With the opening of the exhibition "I went into the forest and saw nothing except trees" by Anja Korherr on March 3 at 7 p.m. in the AK-Bildungshaus Jägermayrhof, the cultural focus is set. Korherr's surreal comic work reflects reality and dream motifs, and the exhibition can be seen until June 2, 2025. The AK director Andrea Heimberger emphasizes the urgency to honor the achievements of women in culture and demands more equality, as is clear in the quote of Simone de Beauvoir: "Women who ask nothing are taken at the word: they get nothing".
diverse program for equality
The varied program includes highlights such as the concert by the songwriter Sigrid Horn on March 6th at 7:30 p.m. in the AK Linz, where it will perform with her latest album "Nest". On March 10, the socially critical comedy "Nobody pushes us away" is on the program, accompanied by a lecture on income justice with economist Katharina Mader. Also in focus on the panel discussion on March 16 in the Nordico Stadtmuseum, which deals with current feminist topics in the context of current society, while the well -known bluesser Sari Schorr rocks the stage in Linz on March 21st
A particularly outstanding event is the World Women's Day on March 8, which is celebrated with the film "Beautiful" by Karoline Herfurth. The film deals humorously with the compulsion to optimize self -optimization and illuminates the need for self -determination for women. The end of the women's culture month on March 26th is the exciting discussion with Alexandra Zykunov about equality, supported by its provocative work, which critically questioned social grievances. Tickets for the events are available via the AK Linz, including reduced prices for owners of the AK performance card, as reported by the Upper Austria Chamber of Labor.
