House fire in Weimar: Flames devastate buildings before Christmas!

On the night of December 21, a devastating fire completely destroyed a residential building in Weimar, Thuringia. As thueringen24 , the fire initially began in a shed near the building before the flames on the family house attacked. Despite the rapid commitment of the Weimar professional fire brigade, supported by several volunteer fire brigades, the fire could not be contained. In the dramatic hours of the mission, the situation quickly turned out to be critical: the fire spread unstoppably, whereby the roof and gable of the house collapsed.

While the emergency services tried to protect the surrounding buildings, a gas tank at the house had to be cooled with water to avoid an explosion. During the mission, two residents, a 59-year-old man and a 63-year-old woman, were slightly injured and medical care, such as Tag24 . The fire brigade was in use until the early hours of the morning to combat the embers and was able to prevent further damage to neighboring buildings.

The amount of the total damage is estimated at several hundred thousand euros, whereby the investigation into the cause of the fire is now being carried out by the Weimar police inspection and the criminal police. The fire location examination can take place at the earliest on the following day, since the stability of the building must be ensured beforehand. In the meantime, the affected residents found accommodation among neighbors, while the fire brigade continues to keep an eye on the scene.
