Heavy truck accident on A2: Fire brigade saves the drivers clamped!
On Monday morning, December 2, 2024, a serious traffic accident occurred on the South Autobahn (A2) in the direction of Vienna, in which a four -axle truck overturned. The accident passed near the Shopping City Süd and meant that the driver remained enclosed in the cabin. According to reports from the Vienna Neudorf volunteer fire brigade, an emergency team was immediately alerted, which hurried to the scene of the accident with 21 emergency services and four vehicles.
When the fire brigade arrived, the driver was already looked after by the Red Cross. In order to safely free it from the cabin, the emergency services removed the windshield and at the same time ensured double fire protection at the scene of the accident. The recovery of the accident vehicle, which was loaded with concrete and due to expiring equipment, required special precautionary measures, such as fireworld.at.

After the driver's first aid and in close cooperation with the emergency services, the rescue of the truck was planned. The fire brigade was supported by a crane vehicle from the Lower Austrian State Fire Brigade Association and a private towing company. In order not to put a strain on traffic, the emergency services began to remove the truck from the road and unload the concrete in parallel. The Mödling fire brigade was able to successfully raise the truck back onto the road with a crane.
