In the night of Saturday there was a basement fire in an apartment building in the Taklerring in Groß Klein, Rostock. The fire brigade was alerted around 1 a.m. when the residents of the building informed about the fire. About 25 tenants had to leave their apartments for around an hour to get to safety.

The fire was created in the supply cellar of the apartment block, with old furniture serving as fuel. The fire brigade was able to quickly extinguish the flames, but the smoke development led to a shock -like state in a tenant who then had to be treated on an outpatient basis. The exact causes of the fire have so far been unknown, and the criminal police have started investigations because arson cannot be excluded.
