New fire station in Flegessen: groundbreaking for summer 2026 planned!

At the annual meeting of the volunteer local fire brigade Flegessen, important details on a planned new fire station were recently announced. The first groundbreaking for the new building could take place in the summer of 2026. The Flegessen volunteer fire brigade has already received a new middle fire truck (MLF), which is expected to be put into service after seven years of planning and ordering at the end of 2024. First of all, however, the vehicle is only used as a material feeder.

The planning for the new fire station is to be completed in the summer of 2026, with a completion in 2027. An earliest conclusion of the contract for the new building could take place on March 10. The new fire station is intended to serve as a blueprint for other fire station that can be adapted to local needs. However, the process for creating land use and development plans could prove to be time-consuming. The Flegessen fire brigade currently has a total of 96 members. At the meeting, Marlen Heinemeyer was also promoted to chief fire brigade. Last year, the Fleigessen fire brigade performed 25 missions, of which 18 of the local fire brigade and 7 were assigned to the measuring train, such as ndz reported.
