On the night of Thursday there was a fire in an apartment building on Stauferstrasse in Fellbach-Schmiden. According to reports from Schwaebische-post.de was alerted after 03:30 a.m. Residents noticed loud blows and smoke from the basement. Fire brigade, emergency services and police moved in with strong forces to cope with the situation.
The residents of the ground floor and the first floor were evacuated due to heavy smoke development, while the inhabitants of the upper floors could remain in their apartments. The fire broke out in a cellar compartment and was quickly deleted by the fire brigade before it could spread to the entire building. The affected cellar compartment and the lines there were badly damaged. Three apartments are currently uninhabitable and the property damage is estimated at around 60,000 euros. Fortunately, there were no injured people. The investigation into the cause of the fire was recorded by the Fellbach police station.

Almost all residents could be evacuated before the fire brigade arrived. A group of respiratory protection supported further evacuation measures, while all apartments were checked in order to find any remaining residents. Necessary medication were brought out of the apartments and handed over in the quick insert tent.
