Cellar fire in Scharbeutz: Dramatic rescue of residents!
Scharbeutz. A dramatic basement fire in the Kiepenbarg caused excitement on Saturday afternoon! Close black smoke from the basement when the fire brigade arrived. Operations manager Sebastian Levgrün reported shocked residents who stood on their balconies while the toxic smoke flowed directly towards them. Immediately six people had to be saved with special escape hoods to protect them from fatal smoke. One person was injured by flue gases and taken to the hospital.
Fast emergency services
The fire brigade Scharbeutz and Haffkrug were on site with around 60 emergency services, which quickly discovered the fire stove in the basement, where bulky waste was stored. "The fire was deleted quickly," said Levgrün. While the fire brigade ventilated the basement with high -pressure ventilation, a large team of the emergency services took care of the eight affected residents. Fortunately, seven of them did not need medical treatment.
Investigations by the police
The police have already investigated the cause of the fire. After the fire brigade had eliminated the risk of flue gases, the residents were able to return to their apartments safely. A provision room was set up on a nearby supermarket car park to coordinate the emergency services and keep the situation under control. This dramatic event once again shows how important quick action is in emergency situations!
