The situation escalated quickly and the head of the operations decided to announce additional forces to the fire site. This led to an increase in alarm stitching on "Feuer 4". In the back of the shop, the firefighters discovered fire in the tea kitchen. The heat was so intense that a water pipe burst, which luckily contributed to combating the fire. The fire brigade controlled the area with a thermal imaging camera to find and delete possible embers.
During the entire use, the Neheim pedestrian zone was closed to passers -by to ensure security. The affected shop and the apartment above had to be ventilated with a high -performance fan due to the fire smoke. The police supported the fire brigade by blocking the area and thus created a safe environment for the emergency services. In another incident in Sundern, the fire brigade was also alerted after a fire broke out in a two -storey residential complex, in which three people were injured.
