Eisbach, Österreich - In Styria there were two dramatic fire events, both of whom indicate dangerous circumstances. The first incident occurred on Saturday afternoon when a 31-year-old man put a pan with oil on the stove and left the kitchen briefly. When he came back, the room was already in full fire. When trying to pull the burning pan from the stove, he was seriously injured in his right hand. After his alerting the emergency services, he was immediately cared for and brought to the state hospital in Graz. Firefighters, including the fire brigades in and Gratwein, moved in with a total of 19 emergency services to extinguish the fire. The damage has so far been unclear, while the Eisbach-Rein fire brigade was called in a different deployment due to a fireplace fire, said ORF Styria.

Just a few days earlier, on the night of Friday, a scary fire occurred in a multi -party home. A young man who was just getting out of the shower suddenly faced flames that hit his apartment. He immediately alerted the fire brigade and warned the neighbors, who were in direct risk of leaving their apartments. Thanks to drone support, the fire source could be localized quickly, and with heavy breathing protection, an internal attack was started, while the remaining residents were evacuated. In the adjacent apartments, questionably high pollutant concentrations were found, which would have made lingering in the apartments a danger to life. Numerous people had to be looked after, one was transported to the hospital, reports the fire brigade and the local news.

These two incidents show how important fast action and the cooperation of the emergency services are to prevent worse consequences. The respective communities are working on providing temporary accommodation for the residents concerned, while the investigation into the exact cause of the fire is still ongoing.
