On Sunday morning, December 22, 2024, the body of a 44-year-old woman was discovered in a stream bed in St. Stefan in the Rosental. The passers -by found the motionless woman in a stream that was only a few centimeters deep, which was near a restaurant. After initial investigations and the autopsy, it came out that the woman probably fell into the stream the night before and died of hypothermia. The autopsy showed that the woman had previously visited the restaurant and consumed alcohol. Witnesses testify that in the evening she had left the restaurant alone to smoke a cigarette. She probably plunged into the stream about two and a half meters above a slope. The fire brigade was able to recover the woman, but all help came too late and the rescue workers had to determine their death. The body was released for burial and the relatives were informed of a crisis intervention team. No evidence of external negligence was found, which further complicated the investigation.
