Flur fire in Puchberg: Fire brigade fights against thick smoke

On Friday afternoon, March 8, 2025, the fire brigades in Puchberg am Schneeberg, Rohrbach/Graben and Schneebergdörfl were alerted to a hall fire. The emergency call received around 2:30 p.m. because a dense column of smoke between the B26 and the Schneebergbahn was visible. Immediately 35 fire brigade members with six emergency vehicles went to the fire location to counteract the dangerous situation quickly and effectively, such as NÖN.AT reported.

Already when the emergency services arrived, some passers -by, including fire brigade members, tried to curb the fire with an extinguishing attempt. The Puchberg fire brigade immediately initiated a comprehensive fire -fighting attack, which was finally successful. To ensure a sufficient water supply, commuting with tank fire vehicles has been set up. After about two hours, "fire" could be given, whereupon the thermal imaging camera of the team was used in order to identify and delete any remaining embers. At the same time, the police have started the investigation into the cause of the fire, as in the joint report by nön.at
