Fire brigade and police: A strong team in fire fighting!

In the municipality of Poysdorf, there was a special winter training for firefighters organized by district broken investigator Martin Jilli. The lecture, which focused on the collaboration between the fire brigade and the police at fire events, illustrated the decisive role of the fire brigades for the investigative work of the fire investigators. This was demonstrated at a major fire in Kaufbeuren in June 2022, as a fire and the police worked hand in hand to cope with the situation with over 30 fire engines and 127 emergency services, such as Brand-feuer.de reported.

The training aimed to increase the efficiency of the use by optimizing the processes in fire fighting and subsequent investigation. It is important that the police and fire brigade act together in an emergency, especially in situations where speed and precise action are of the utmost importance. While the fire brigade is responsible for extinguishing the flames, the police must secure the danger situation on site and support the determination of the cause of the fire. This requires a high degree of coordination and mutual understanding of how the results from the Bachelor thesis of Stephan Bockting at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration NRW.

The close cooperation between the police, fire brigade and emergency services is therefore essential to save human lives and to ensure successful evidence of evidence in addition to fire fighting. In Poysdorf, this interdisciplinary approach is further strengthened, which not only increases the efficiency of the operations, but also promotes trust between the emergency services. At a time when operations become more complex, the need for such training is a real step to master the challenges of the future.
