A terrible apartment fire in Maria Enzersdorf, Mödling district, tragically demanded two human lives on Saturday in the early morning. According to reports from Today.at and nön.at was alerted at around 03:40 a.m., as flames from an apartment and several residents were in the immediate danger.

Three voluntary fire departments immediately moved out to the site, where they courageously tried to save the people trapped in the building. During the dangerous mission, the respiratory protection team discovered two victims in the staircase, which they immediately brought outdoors. Three other residents who were brought to nearby hospitals for medical treatment were also injured. Due to the intensity of the fire, several apartments became uninhabitable, and the community offered emergency accommodation for the families concerned.

The exact circumstances of the fire are currently being examined by the police. In this context, the interior minister and the fire brigade warn for the installation of smoke detectors in all living rooms and urgently warn of not blocking escape routes in the event of a fire, as this could be life -threatening.
