Riedstadt is in shock!On Monday afternoon, November 4th, a devastating fire broke out on Alte Landesstraße in the Goddelau district, in which two men were injured. The dramatic deployment of the fire department was triggered at 2:45 p.m. when concerned witnesses reported the inferno from a tailor's shop in an adjacent building. Two brave men, 44 and 78 years old, tried fearlessly to fight the flames, but they quickly discovered that their courageous efforts put them in danger - they suffered smoke inhalation and had to be taken to hospital.
Intensive extinguishing work
The alerted fire brigade reacted quickly and fought against the flames, which threatened to spread further. Thanks to the brave efforts of the rescuers, the fire was brought under control and finally extinguished. But the question about the causes remains: What started this fire? Commissariat 10 of the Rüsselsheim Police Department has taken over the investigation, but there is currently no evidence of intentional arson. This brings at least a small ray of hope to the worrying situation.
The initial damage estimates give an idea of the extent of the destruction - they are in the low to mid six-figure range. Goddelau will continue to feel the consequences of this fire for a long time, as investigators try to shed light on how this horrific scenario could have happened.
