Luxury ski area in Ukraine: Successful start of construction despite war!

In the middle of the ongoing war in Ukraine, a luxurious ski area with an investment volume of $ 1.5 billion is created, which causes a lot of sensation. As Exxpress , the Goro Mountain Resort is built on an impressive area of 1,200 hectares and will have 41 ski slopes, several cable cars and 25 hotels. Despite the economic challenges, the Ukrainian company OKKO in cooperation with international investors plans to realize this ambitious project in the Carpathians, which triggers both enthusiasm and criticism.

The first construction phase has already started and is said to be completed by the winter of 2028/29. A welcome center and the lower station of the gondola lift are built, supplemented by ten ski slopes with modern snowmaking systems and two chairlifts. According to the CEO of the Okko Group, Vasyl Danyliak, these are strategic investments in the future of Ukraine. Further information about the project can be found at Schneehoehen.de where it is explained that the first phase also includes five hotel complexes with more than 1,100 rooms and should offer a comprehensive leisure infrastructure.
