Stoltenberg: Temporary regulations for peace discussed!
Former NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg is considering the possibility of temporary regional detections from Ukraine to Russia in order to enable war quickly. Stoltenberg said that a clear ceasefire line had to be drawn, even if this could mean that Russia continues to control certain areas. In an interview with the portal OE24 he emphasized that the Ukraine receives security guarantees in return, such as one membership in NATO or others Support. However, he warned that in the current military situation, a complete reconquest of all occupied areas is unrealistic.
The Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj recently asked the western allies to put the controlled areas under a NATO protection screen in order to end the active phase of the war. In an interview with FAZ explained that a diplomatic solution only after ensuring protection for the present controlled areas is possible. In the context of his statement, this happened that Ukraine could be forced to temporarily accept territorial losses to pursue long -term goals.
military assessments and political options
Stoltenberg supports Selenskyj's argument that there should be no territory to Russia in the event of an armistice. Nevertheless, he reported that the reality of this situation was currently different. Selenskyj had indicated at the beginning of November that Ukraine may have to "survive" some occupied areas in order to ultimately ensure state maintenance and peace. These statements raise important questions about the strategic direction of Ukraine and the role of NATO in the ongoing conflict.
