In the Saadiyat Cultural District in Abu Dhabi, an impressive cultural landscape will be created by the end of the year, which will enable visitors to explore the Louvre and the Guggenheim Museum in a single day without having to cross international borders. This new cultural district will not only contain international branches of the world-famous Louvre and the Guggenheim Museum, but also other institutions such as an immersive digital art space from TeamLab and a natural history museum.

Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairman of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi, emphasizes: "Many places worldwide have fantastic cultural institutions, many of which are much older. But the proximity of all of these institutions makes this project special." The project relies on an innovative network of "cool paths" that use nature -related shading techniques to enable a walk -in connection between museums and cultural sites.

a monumental investment project

The cultural area extends over 2.43 square kilometers and is one of the largest cultural investment projects worldwide. Renowned architects such as Jean Nouvel, Frank Gehry and Norman Foster have taken over the design that should become an attraction themselves. "We hope that this complex, which comprises more than 160,000 square meters of space, like the West Kowloon Cultural District in Hong Kong or the Museum Island in Berlin, will develop into a world -famous tourist destination," adds Al Mubarak.

Natural History Museum

The museum focused on science will tell the 13.8 billion year old history of our universe and includes a research center. With an area of 35,000 square meters, it will be the largest of its kind in the region. The highlight of the museum will be the most complete Tyrannosaurus-Rex skeleton in the world, which was acquired in 2020 for $ 31.8 million

Zayed National Museum

named after the founding father of the VAE, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan, this museum designed by Foster + Partners will present the history and culture of the Emirates in its six internal galleries. Visitors can look forward to a journey through 300,000 years of local and regional history that indicate the development of the country's unique desert landscape.

Louvre Abu dhabi

The Louvre Abu Dhabi, which opened in 2017, is the first international branch of the Iconic French Museum. With 23 galleries, it shows a variety of works of art, from ancient Egyptian sculptures to masterpieces of the Italian Renaissance. Guggenheim Abu Dhabi
