Bled, Slowenien - Austria shows its strength again in ice hockey! At the U20 World Championship of Division 1a in Slovenia, the ÖEHV team celebrated an impressive 4-2 victory against France. The crucial moment came in the middle third when the team scored four goals and thus laid the basis for the victory. Ian Scherzer opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, followed by a spectacular solo of the only 15-year-old Paul Sintschnig, who increased to 2-0 in the 25th minute. Thomas Klassek and David Waschnig had the Austrian fans cheer with other hits in the power play and provided a comfortable 4-0 lead for the second third break.

But the game turned in the last section: France did not give up and achieved a converted penalty in the 45th minute through Teo Toubhans-Besnier and reduced the deficit to 4: 2 only a minute later. Fortunately, Benedikt Oschgan had kept his housing clean in the goal of Austria to the end and defused all further attempts by the French, defending a total of 25 out of 27 shots.
