Moldova becomes a digital pioneer nation for the EU: Big project started!

Moldova is taking a significant step towards the digital future! The country's e-governance agency (AGE) is proud to take part in an EU digital identity exchange pilot project. As part of the “WE BUILD” consortium selected by the European Commission, Moldova plays a central role in developing secure applications for public services in the EU. This initiative marks an important milestone in Moldova's ambition to move towards EU standards and is supported by the rapid growth of the IT sector in the country. Future-oriented digital solutions

AGE will take significant steps to develop and test secure business-to-government solutions that enable integration of digital wallets into public services. With a pre-release version of a digital identity exchange within the national public services app, EVOSign, Moldova demonstrates its innovative strength and commitment to digital technologies. The digital identity exchange initiative is part of the larger “Digital Europe” program, which is financed with 7 billion euros and is intended to promote digitalization in various sectors, such as coe.int determines.

The Moldovan government is determined to significantly advance the country's digital transformation and strengthen cooperation with international partners. In addition to digitalization measures, the Action Plan for the Republic of Moldova 2021-2024 focuses on human rights and improving the justice system to bring national practices in line with European standards.
